DETAIL MILLING FOREMAN

M.T. Laney Co. Inc. is an established successful construction firm located in Eldersburg, MD. We are searching for an experienced, committed, career minded Detail Foreman/Operator to be part of our growing team in the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan area.

The ideal candidate will be a team player who is highly motivated with a strong work ethic and desires to be part of a skilled construction team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must have knowledge of operation Skid Loader and the following attachments 2ft Milling Machine Head, Sweeper Box, and Bucket
  • Must be able to operate a Skid steer and Milling Head to lower the finished grade adjacent to all existing curb and utilities and will achieve the results specified in the project contract.
  • Perform daily visual inspections of equipment and job site and document any equipment/issues in need of service or attention.
  • Maintain regular and opened communication with Superintendent, Inspectors & crew members

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read and understand instructions and specifications to determine work activities
  • Comply with municipality requirements, specifications, safety standards and company policies.
  • Must have good hand, foot and eye coordination to safety operate machine.
  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Coordinate with Dispatch and Superintendent on equipment needs
  • Perform weekly toolbox talks” regarding job site safety or other site related matter
  • Must have computer skills to maintain and submit daily logs
  • Develop and train field laborers and operators to encourage them to better, grow, and understand their responsibilities
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
  • Must have a CDL Class A license

SALARY/HOURLY EXEMPTION:

  • Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position
  • Salary based on knowledge and experience

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions that can include extreme cold and heat
  • Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required

WORKING HOURS/EXPECTATIONS:

  • Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments as required

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, twist or crouch on all different types of terrain.
  • The employee is also regularly required to talk and hear
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions
  • Drive and sit for prolonged amounts of time

 

EDUCATION:

  • High school or equivalent is preferred

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid CDL Class A Driver License Required with clean driving record

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 1 year of experience.
