CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER

M.T. Laney Co. Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to join their team. The Project Manager oversees all aspects of project management involving planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating activities to ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. The Construction Project Manager we are looking for will have previous experience in construction management projects and familiarity with full-site development work, including residential and commercial work.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be familiar with the construction industry with an emphasis on Roadwork, Earthwork, Site Utilities & Storm Water Management
  • Manage all aspects of construction projects, including cost, schedule, scope; contract administration; and change management.
  • Effectively manage contractors for successful performance, including participating in routine project meetings and maintaining contractor focus on safety, efficient work practices, near-term activities, and planning.
  • Manage contractual project requirements, including reviewing payment requests, changes in scope, and requests for information.
  • Effectively address risk management aspects.
  • Provide progress reports to management, including safety, cost, schedule, quality, and project risks.
  • Manage project financial reporting requirements, including preparing project budgets and spending forecasts.
  • Provide field project oversight during active construction on large civil/capital projects, including quality assurance and safety audits.
  • Work closely with the estimating department to understand material cost etc.
  • Must be familiar with reading and understanding civil drawings, including grading, utilities, erosion and sediment controls, and other work performed by site contractors.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to work with others
  • Ability to manage engineering and construction contractors to deliver scope within budget and on schedule.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic
  • Must be proficient in mathematics
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and manage time and workload
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel to job sites as needed
  • Valid Driver's license with a good driving record
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

SALARY/HOURLY EXEMPTION:

  • Full-Time, Exempt Position
  • Salary based on knowledge, experience, and education

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Office Environment and occasional travel to construction sites (where PPE will be required), pre-bid meetings, and client sites

WORKING HOURS/EXPECTATIONS:

This is a salaried position, and the hours and demands are based upon the job workload. There is an expectation for someone who can be a self-starter and work independently. The base start times could be from 6 am-8 am, dependent upon workload, deadlines, and client demands, and can vary from day to day.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Stand and sit for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to drive up to 6 hours a day
  • Walk, bend, kneel, and twist
  • Talk and hear
  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds

EDUCATION:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • OSHA 30, RPC E&S, SHA Yellow Card
  • Company will offer training and certification assistance

NON-ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid is a plus but not required

EXPERIENCE:

  • Construction Project Management 2 Years (Preferred)
